Løvøya Oslofjord

Camping
Løvøya Oslofjord offers over 100 caravan pitches spread across eight beautiful, terraced areas, most with sea views and convenient access to electricity. Each area has its own toilet facilities, and all pitches are located close to restrooms, the café and swimming areas. You can book a pitch for both short and long stays. The Furulund area also offers the most affordable overnight spots in Horten.

At the heart of the campsite lies the historic Løvøya Chapel with the Olav Spring, which is part of the Pilgrim’s Route. This unique location offers a very special atmosphere and tells the story of Løvøya as a pilgrimage site dating back to the Middle Ages. Løvøya is also located within a short distance of Borre Golf Course, Borre Park with its Viking burial mounds and historical center, as well as the town of Horten with shops, restaurants and other amenities. Here you can enjoy wonderful days with swimming, fishing, boating, hiking and cycling, or simply relax and find peace in the beautiful natural surroundings.

Cabins
Løvøya offers two types of cabins. The larger cabins are winter-insulated and have a floor area of 28 square meters plus a spacious loft. Each has two bedrooms, one of them with a family bunk bed, providing accommodation for four to five people. The cabins are equipped with a bathroom with shower and toilet, and a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, freezer, stove with oven, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, a cozy outdoor seating area with a barbecue and a small private lawn.
The camping cabins are fully equipped for up to four people. They have a TV and internet access, with running hot and cold water. Toilets and showers are available in a modern sanitary facility nearby. These cabins also have a nice outdoor seating area with a barbecue.

Glamping
For those who want a bit more comfort, Løvøya offers 14 spacious glamping tents with sea views. Each tent is furnished with comfortable beds with mattresses, bedding and pillows, and is located close to the sanitary facilities with showers and toilets. Here you can truly enjoy the best of both worlds by combining the feeling of camping with the comfort of a hotel-like experience.

Café and Ice Cream Kiosk
The café and the ice cream kiosk Campis are beautifully located right by the water and offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. The café serves delicious dishes, snacks and drinks and has a full license. The ice cream kiosk offers a large selection of popsicles, soft serve and scooped ice cream, making it a favorite spot for both children and adults. Both the café and kiosk are open every day throughout the summer season.

Sauna
The site also has a wood-fired sauna provided by the Oslo Sauna Association, which will be available until mid-August. The sauna is beautifully placed on the beach, offering the perfect combination of a refreshing dip in the fjord followed by the warmth and stunning views from inside the sauna. The sauna is self-service, and the first hour is reserved for heating it yourself.

Wake up to the sound of bird song!
An overnight stay in the treetop cabins is an unique experience for both young and old. The beautiful nature – the peace and quiet, the animals, birds and the magic surroundings.

The cabins are idyllically located safely in the pine trees. You can choose between the cabins Ugleredet, Haukeredet, Falkeredet, Ørneredet and Våkeredet, all named after birds who build nests or reside in the area.

About the treetop cabins
The cabins are all isolated for the winter season. Wood burning, bathroom, kitchen, water, stove and fridge. The cabins have duvet and pillows for 8 people and everything else you might need for a comfortable stay up in the trees – surrounded by nature – throughout the year.

There is room for 7-8 people in every cabin. The cabins have two floors, with living room and kitchen, separate shower and bio toilet and a bedroom with a double bed. Through the porch doors you can see the Oslo fjord with a panoramic view. The terrace have handmade furniture. The loft is accessible through a staircase in the living room, it’s windows in the ceiling where you can look up at the stars. The sofa in the living room can be used as a bed, best fitted for children.

Events for companies
The treetop cabins offers an unique experience for companies as well, instead of the usual hotel events. Every cabin has beds for 7 people, however in a business event its recommended with 3-4 people. By renting all the cabins its room for 20 people. Monday – Wednesday is the best days to rent the cabins all together.

Tufte gård is in cooperation with Treetop cabins and offers cabins and team activities as well, only a couple of minutes away.

Fulehuk Lighthouse

Nowadays the role of the lighthouse is played by a fully automatic beacon on a nearby island. The lighthouse itself is operated by the association of Fuglehuks friends, looked after by the foundation Fulehuk Fyr. Its been renovated by the association, and visitors can enjoy the stunning view from the top of the tower, as well as looking out onto the many ships that pass by every day. The sunset and sundown view is often described as magical.

Accommodation at Fulehuk fyr
The lighthouse offer accommodation up to 30 people in the lighthouse and Naustloftet, and is equipped with kitchen, bedrooms, living rooms and meeting rooms. Fresh water, electricity, indoor toilet and bathroom. The hosts will help you with accommodation and information.

At the cabin there are 8 beds that are rented out during the summer (June 1 – August 30 without Saturdays) They can be rented for up to three days at a time. They are split between two bedrooms that also double as the primary living rooms. The cabin is simmilar to a self serve cabin in the mountains, where you meet other people who are there at the same time as you. 

Transport

Fjordtaxi will drive you out for a fixed fee. 

By boat: The island which the lighthouse is built upon is quite samm and as a result it is very exposed to the elements. there is also a lack of good spots to anchor, though there are several spots where kayakks can easily dock. If one wishes to use ones own motor boat to visit then the hosts at the lighthouse must be contacted first. Any use of a private boat is done at the owners risk. Alternatively one can dock at the guest port at Eastern Bolæren for a fee and travel out to Fulehuk from there.

Safety
Young children must be looked after at all times as there are several cliffs and many slippery rocks to fall on. If you bring children it is
recommended that they wear life vest while outside. Remember that it is the law to bring life vests if one arrives in a private boat. The lighthouse
lies far out in the fjord and the weather can change at a moments notice.

Hvasser Motell

Hvasser Motel – location and history

The motel is driven by the Schøning-Olsen family third generation. “Fjeldhøi” was built in 1917 by Henrik Torgersen, where the main business was post and phone service. When Sigvart Schøning-Olsen got the estate in 1933, he changed the business to  the accommodation sector. In 1936 it was a guesthouse, then in 1978 it was changed to a motel and the annex was torn down.

Cabin and communal area
The cabins are spread out on a 8.000 m2 property, with a nice cosy garden with old fruit trees and roses. There is activities such as volleyball and a playground for the children. The beach is 150 m walking distance away, perfect for small children. Grocery store (year round) and different restaurants (open during summer) is 150 m from the motel.

The cabins are 35-40 m2 and all have living room with kitchen, 2 bedrooms with 4-6 beds, bathroom with shower and toilet. The cabins are equipped with kitchen utensils, duvet and pillows (bed covers is for rent), TV, outdoor furniture and barbeque. In the main house there is a communal living room, freezer opportunities and laundry room.

All the cabins have been renovated over the last few years, such as the kitchen and bathroom. Nine cabins are open during the winter as well, and is usually rented over a long period of time.

During the summer the main guest are families that enjoy the summer with sun and beach.

Group activities
Hvasser Motel is perfect for groups, family gatherings and associations, where its possible to rent multiple cabins and the communal living room, where the guest can either have dinner party or have seminars. There is a lot of different activities in Hvasser and Tjøme. Such as scuba diving, sailing, kayaking, bow and arrow, hiking, climbing, horse riding and golf.

Bogen

The "Kystled-huts" consists of a network of accommodation along the coast in the Oslo Fjord for people traveling on foot, or by rowing and sailing boat. The aim of the coastal route is to disseminate coastal culture and to provide information about nature and outdoor life.

The coastal hut is open to the public. There are coastal leaders in several places in the country.

STABBURET in Bogen
Child-friendly beach and play area. The cabin is connected to Bogen Artist Workshops, which is a historic property worthy of protection, originally built as a shipowner's home in the 18th century. It has also been a bus station, poorhouse and old people's home.

Stolpestad Camping

Location
15 km south of Larvik and 7 km west of Stavern. Stolpestad is right by the water with beautiful shallow beaches, fields, smooth rocks and nature walks.

Service
Stolpestad Camping offers 220 areas for motorhomes. Stolpestad offers electricity and water for its visitors. There is some room for tents and 5 cabins with bathroom.

There is one sanitary installment with toilets, showers, nursery, laundry room, handicap toilet with shower, and dumping ground for motorhomes. 4 charging stations for electric cars. Stolpestad Camping has a kitchen with possibility to do the dishes.

Boat rental: different types of boats and kajakks. All the boats contains life jackets. Stolpestad does also have rental of Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP). Frisbeegolf field in the forest. 

Cabin 1 and 2

Cabin 3
2 bedrooms and 1 annex with 7 beds, living room, kitchen, bathroom with toilet and shower, laundry room and freezer. Sunny terrace. Short distance to swimming spots and soft rocks.

Cabin 4
3 bedrooms with a total of 8 beds, living room with TV and fireplace, kitchen with fridge/freezer, bathroom with WC, shower and washing machine. The cabin is located at the entrance to the campsite. Large sunny veranda and al arge grass area around. Short distance to the beach and pier, summer shopping and boat rentals. Short distance to charging station for electric car.

Cabin 5
3 bedrooms with a total of 7 beds, kitchen with fridge/freezer, bathroom with WC, shower and washing machine, living room with TV. The cabin is located by the sea with a large sunny veranda and great views of the Naverfjord. The beach in the immediate vicinity. Short distance to summer shopping and boat rentals. Charging station for electric car.

Blokkebukta Camping

Location
12 km from Larvik. 30 minute drive from Torp airport – 45 minutes from Tønsberg  – 1½ hour from Drammen and ½ from Grenland-area.

Blokkebukta Camping is a family-owned camping with history back to 1920’s when Mathilde Lunde was the owner. She is the grandmother of the current owner Roar Lunde.

Camping
Blokkebukta camping has room for 325 caravans and tents. The campsite is located in a nice area with 2 playgrounds for the children and fishing opportunities. Grocery store/streetfood is avaliable. Blokkebukta is a family campsite where it should be quiet from 23.00

Cabins
Blokkebukta has 3 cabins for rental. The cabins were renovated in the spring of 2007. The cabins are equipped with a fridge, stove, cable-TV, radio, dishwasher and a washing machine. They are big and spacious. 

Apartments
The apartments are 65 kvm with 2 bedrooms and 6 beds. The apartments are equipped with a dishwasher, fridge, freezer, coffee maker, washing machine, electricity and water. TV, terrace, outdoor furniture and barbeque. No smoking!
The cabins and apartments are located outside Blokkebukta Camping and can be rented weeks at a time, Saturday to Saturday.

The Area
Blokkebukta is a short walking distance to Helgeroa pier with 2 restaurants, a ferry to Langesund and more. Modern sanitary installments with toilet, shower, laundry room and kitchen. Dumping grounds and a nice harbour for small boats. Beautiful coastline paths to Nevlunghavn.

Directions
Follow 302 from Larvik towards Helgeroa. After about 15 min. turn right towards Helgeroa. Follow the signs to Blokkebukta.

Verdens Ende Camping

Verdens Ende camping, "the World’s End Camping", is an old and traditional camping, with a short distance to "the World’s End" Guest Harbor and swimming spots in Tjøme.

The camping has 50 fixed places for permanent visitors, many have lived here for years.

Further it has 15 cabins, all different sizes. The small cabin 9 m2, with two beds and short distance to the sanitary installation. The big cabins is 42 m2, with 2 bedrooms with 6 beds and bathroom. In addition, it is a cabin that is 120 m2 with a very high standard, and 10 beds. All cabins and camping spots can be booked at Verdens Ende Camping.

At Verdens Ende Camping there are 15-20 motorhome parking spaces,and plenty of space for caravans and tents for a short stay.

Verdens Ende Cafe (pub and kiosk) is open during the summer season. Homemade food and drinks are offered at good prices.The cafe offers the possibility to arrange an event for 40 people.

The Hunter Cottage at Malmøya

The hunter cottage with the holiday home is a great coastal cottage with plenty of space. Here you can rent single rooms, or go with several families. Also suitable for groups, associations, camps (large tent pitch outside).

The hunter cottage is a sleeping cottage, and the dormitories on the 2nd floor consist of bed boxes along the walls in size 175 cm! Otherwise, there are 2-person rooms, 4-person rooms and 6-person rooms. There are 2 new toilets/showers. The holiday home has a living room and kitchen, as well as a shower/toilet. Large and spacious kitchen with all equipment. Large living room and terrace and patio with table/benches.

The hunter cottage was in its time used as accommodation for hunters and "patters" on e.g. pheasant hunting. There are many paths on the island, and the Larvik Tourist Association has made a nice hiking map of the island. Also feel free to use the rowing boat that comes with the cottage and explore the island from the sea side!
