Gavelstad Gjestegård

The hotel has got 40 rooms with showers and WC, and can accomodate 100 guests in total.

The rooms are smart and redecorated, and the hotel has several parlours and lounges. The cosy dining room can seat 120 guests.
There is also a guest kitchen available for visitors.

Solplassen Camping

The area has together 46 cabins and bungalows for 2 – 8 people. 22 of the cabins are all year round rentals.

The Camping has a grocery store and a cafe & summer restaurant with outdoor seating. The summer restaurant serves typical food such as pizza, street food and offers take away. The restaurant is open for everyone. The Camping has its own beach with a floating dock, and only a 5 minute walk from Rakke with smooth rocks.

Solplassen has 2 sanitary installations, each with their own washing machines and tumble dryers.

The area
Stavern city centre is not far from the camping area. Stavern is a summer city with visitors from all over the country. Stavern offers exhibitions throughout the summer.

Solplassen is surrounded by beautiful nature, with a coastal path is nearby. The coastal path goes from Stavern to Helgeroa with a distance of 35 km through nature, beach and smooth rocks. In brunlanes you will find incredible Mølen, which is a part of UNESCO’s global geopark.

Fishing
Larvik has a coastline covering 123 km with good fishings spots. Fish from shore or off a boat the choice is yours. Larvik also has one of Norways best salmon rivers, Numedalslågen.

The archipelago of Rakke is a Eldorado for divers, both professionals and amateurs. There is alot to see, such as 80 shipwrecks.

Presteseter

The Presteseter cabin is situated at 440 metres beyond sea level at Skrim, owned by Larvik Tourist Association. The cabin can be used by members of the Larvik Tourist Association and the Norwegian Tourist Association.

You will find idyllic Presteseter by the lake Kopavann at Skrim. Wonderful forest terrain with plenty of possibilities for picking berries and excellent conditions for bathing and swimming. At Presteseter you can rent the main cabin, or you may stay the night at The Quarters next door (here you will need a special key designed for members of the Norwegian Tourist Association).

Groups and classes are able to rent the main cabin. All in all there are 22 beds on 2 spacious rooms upstairs (1 bunk + 5 simple beds at each room). 1 bedroom at the ground floor (4 beds) and 4 benches in the living room, but the latter ones cannot be compared to beds. Plates, cutlery and utensils to provide 20 persons. Propane, firewood and el.-generator. Water from well outside cabin.

Important: Bring keys (from Larvik Tourist Office, Storgt.50), matchsticks, candlelights, torch, a rag and tea towels. The cabin has got duvets and pillows, but you need to bring a sleeping bag.

Ivarsbu

The Ivarsbu cabin is situated at 615 metres beyond sea level at Skrim, owned by Larvik Tourist Association. The cabin can be used by members of the Larvik Tourist Association and the Norwegian Tourist Association.

You find Ivarsbu by the lake Store Stølevann at Skrim, beautifully situated at the water’s edge. Here you have got splendid possibilities for fishing, bathing and walking.

Ivarsbu has 3 cabins for staying overnight: the Boat House, the Smith’s House and the Main House. (Worth noting is that the Main House is open solely to members of the Larvik Tourist Association).

In summer you follow classified road nr.40 from Larvik through Hvittingfoss in direction Kongsberg. You turn left at Hvål 8 km after Hvittingfoss, and having passed a narrow bridge you turn right at Passebekk. After a 4 km ride you need to take the clay road to the left at the sign Skrim N(orth). Turn right after approx.4 km, when you see the signpost in direction Ivarsbu. 

Membership in the Norwegian Tourist Association is necessary to use this cabin.

Ula Camping

Ula Camping is regulated for tents and is a car-free and family-friendly area in beautiful surroundings. Nice sandy beaches, and rocky mountains.

Internet check-in
There is no booking for tents and you are free to choose your own place in the area marked for camping. Tents and hammocks can not be set up in the beach zone. The fire regulations require 4 meters between the tents. There are 90 tent sites plus an area reserved for hammocks. The whole area is car-free and it is important to follow the check-in instructions on the websites. Check-in on the website on arrival with a tent number available at the reception. 

Arrival and parking
On arrival, park your car temporarily at the parking at Ula Port (by payment). Follow the walkway 300 meters to the beach and reception. You may use the trolleys for your luggage. There are free parking spaces located in the forest near the campsite, these are marked on the map which you may find on the website. 

Facilities
There is older facilities with toilets, washbasins, showers and a simple kitchen solution on site. The garbage container is next to the toilet facility.

Ula camping has a kiosk and pizzeria, open every day during the school holidays. The chefs make stoneoven-baked Italian pizza that can be enjoyed in the outdoor terrace or at the beach. In the kiosk you will also find the famous waffles. 

There are possibilities for a washing machine in a service building in Ula harbor that belongs to Ula Vel. There is also a small shop in Ula that is open during the school holidays. It 6 km to nearest COOP or Joker.

In the area around Ula there are many nice trails and small roads. A good starting point for hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, diving, bouldering and much more.

Ula Camping has spaces for tents only.
